The Pierce City Eagles traveled to Cherokee Kansas to participate in the Lancer Classic. In the 1st game on Thursday January, 18th the Eagles played Columbus (KS). The final score was 65-44 in Pierce City’s favor. The Eagles had 3 players in double digits, Hunter Tindell with 19, Aaron Garner with 13, and Trey Sagehorn with 12. The other players scoring for the Eagles were Hunter Hatfield and Jackson Kleiboeker with 9, Donnel Kleiboeker with 2, and Colten O’Hara with 1.
The semi-final round was the next day as the Eagles played Parons (KS). This game did not go in the Eagles favor as Parsons jumped on them early. During the 3rd quarter the Eagles cut it to 4, however Parsons did not let it get any closer. The final was 64-48. The two leading scorers for the Eagles were Trey Sagehorn with 14 and Hunter Tindell with 10.
On Saturday the Eagles came out for the 3rd place game. Their opponent was Jayhawk Linn. The Eagles shut their offense down holding them to under 40 points as they scored 70. The Eagle double digit scorers were Donnel Kleiboeker with 15, Hunter Hatfield with 13, and Colten O’Hara 12. This is the Eagles 3rd, 3rd place trophy this year.
The Eagles next game is at home against Seneca. C team starts at 5, followed by JV around 6, as Varsity follows JV.
